There is a myriad of different myths in the fitness industry that stop beginners from feeling like they can even start on an effective exercise routine. Using the most up to date and relevant research in the field of exercise science I will break down five of these big myths and misconceptions. Listeners will feel empowered to start on a program that is effective, evidence based, and requires a very minimal time investment.

  • Cardio for weight loss is ineffective and a waste of time 
  • You're never "Too Old" to start weight training, and it becomes more important as we age. 
  • Strength improves cognition and fights long term mental decline 
  • There's no such thing as "bulking" or "toning" when it comes to exercise 
  • Everyone has enough "time" to train. Positive benefits can be seen is as little as 20 minutes 1x/week
